Our Story & Values

Our Ethos

Our Ethos

At Tuft, we don't just make furniture — we build legacies.

Born from a 20-year-old workshop and reimagined by two architects, kindred friends united by design and motherhood, Tuft stands at the intersection of design, craftsmanship, and resilience. Every piece carries the mark of generations who shaped wood with patience and purpose — and the vision of women who see homes not as trends, but as timeless stories of living.

Guided by an architect's eye and a maker's heart, we craft enduring furniture that balances form and function — elegant yet strong, contemporary yet rooted in heritage. From our hands to your home, each Tuft creation embodies character, craft, and continuity — a tribute to those who build, nurture, and create with meaning.

Hafsa Asif

Founder & Managing Partner

Meet Hafsa Asif — entrepreneur, strategist, and co-founder of TUFT.

With 13 years of experience at the intersection of design, business growth, and brand-building, Hafsa brings the kind of clarity that turns ideas into companies and products into stories people remember.

She is the mind that connects the creative with the commercial — the person who sees not just what a product looks like, but what it can become.

As a mother of two, she leads with a rare mix of ambition and empathy. She understands that the things we bring into our homes carry emotion, history, and intention — and that good design respects the people who choose it.

Hafsa's journey is not just about building businesses — it's about building value with purpose, brands with soul, and a life where motherhood and leadership stand side by side, not in competition.

At TUFT, she brings the fire and the heart:

Bold in vision. Human in execution. Always building something that matters.

Mariya Yahya Chaudhry

Founder & Creative Partner

Meet Mariya Yahya Chaudhry — architect, co-founder of TUFT, and a curator of meaningful spaces. With over 12 years of architectural practice, Mariya brings more than design expertise — she brings the ability to translate people's stories into spaces and furniture that feel personal.

For her, furniture is not decoration — it is identity made tangible. Every piece she helps create at TUFT is designed to fit not just a room, but the life lived within it. She champions a different kind of furniture story. No theatrics. No trend-chasing. Just intelligent design, backed by decades of manufacturing expertise and a belief that real craftsmanship doesn't need to shout to be seen.

Balancing the worlds of craft and motherhood, Mariya leads with instinct, intelligence, and intention — proving that good design doesn't shout, it settles into place and reflects who you are.

Mariya believes furniture should not speak louder than the person who owns it.

At TUFT, she creates pieces that don't demand attention — they belong.

The Process

Our 5-Step Tufted Space Process

How we design spaces that feel custom, considered, and completely yours.

  • DIAGNOSIS

We start by understanding you and your space.

Site visit, lifestyle study, spatial needs, movement flow, existing elements.

Design begins with clarity, not assumptions.

  • MOOD SETTING

We define the feeling before we design the furniture.

Colour direction, textures, material palette, visual tone.

The mood shapes the space — not trends.

  • CRAFTING

    Where ideas become handcrafted pieces.

Bespoke furniture + 90% in-house production, backed by 45+ years of manufacturing expertise.

Every stitch, join, and curve is intentional.

  • DELIVERING

Your pieces arrive with quality guaranteed.

Finishing checks, timeline commitments, secure delivery.

Premium service doesn’t stop at design — it’s in the handover too.

  • SETTING UP

We place, style, and complete the space.

Installation, layout alignment, final styling, functional check.

We don’t leave until it looks right — and feels right.
